Annual Dues Information from Judy Carlin and Annie Ginis

It is that time of year again. The annual dues for our neighborhood association are now being collected. We are now implementing a new incentive program. If you can get your dues in by December 31st, 2004, the fee is $45. Payment after January 1, 2005 will be $50.

Please understand how important your annual dues are to this neighborhood. The majority of the dues go towards maintenance and upkeep of the cul-de-sacs. This year we are also trying to purchase new signage for both entrances to our development.

What does our neighborhood association offer you ?
  • Improves resale value of home to attract new buyers
  • Helps in maintenance and upkeep of neighborhood
  • Offers a sense of community
  • Offers a means to promote your business with our neighborhood directory and website
  • Allows for organized parties throughout the year for all of the family
  • It's a lot of FUN!

Please join or renew now. Make your checks payable to Clandon Park Estates. Please give your check to Ken Ramsay, Treasurer, 33109 Allenbury.

Any questions please call or e-mail.

We are looking forward to a fabulous year!

Judy Carlin and Annie Ginis, Co-presidents.

Association News from Sandy L-W

Here is a brief update, Briarhill is doing the cul de sac maintenance again this year. They have been the most competitive and have done a good job. There was a small glitch which has been straightened out. They are expected to mow every week until the drought hits and then mow only as needed. They will also be edging, mulching and pruning Banbury and Tayport. They should be doing it this Friday. Friday's are their regular days at Clandon Estates. Neal Marks is calling the city to see if the service department will trim the trees, they are ready for it.

We need a volunteer/s to manage the Landscape Maintenance for the Association. It makes the most sense for someone/s on the cul de sacs to be doing this since they see what is going on. I don't get a chance to walk the cul de sacs all the time and don't know if the Landscapers haven't shown up or what kind of additional work needs to be done. C'mon people surely someone can take on this 'responsibility' ! Speaking of which, I will be 'stepping down' at the end of this term. Judy is willing to stay on but could really use some moral support. We thought perhaps a resident with younger kids would make a good co-chair so we are all well represented. Please folks, we can use some help here. Please contact Judy or me with questions.

We are still trying to finalize a date for the Wine and Cheese and golf outing. Will let you know when we have one, probably sometime in July.

Allenbury / Clarendon Landscaping

The Allenbury / Clarendon culdesac will be cleaned up and landscaped this spring. Work should be starting within the next couple of weeks. We will be removing the decorative stones around the perimeter of the culdesac and any dues paying homeowner is welcome to immediately help themselves to them before the stones are hauled away. We will be putting up a sign for this as well.

Clandon Clips Newsletters

The Clandon Clips Newsletter will be published periodically. Current plans are to send out issues every six months. The latest newsletter is available on-line (Clandon Clips Aug 2002). We also have posted the first newsletter written in May of 1986 (Clandon Clips May 1986). You will see several familiar names.

A Sign of the Times ...

In 2001 at the end of the school year we lost the sign from the S.O.M. Center entrance. Its' loss was attributed to Solon High School senior prank night. The sign was not recovered.

In 2002 the other sign was taken. These signs cost in excess of $600 to replace. With current association budgetary constraints it was decided that replacing signs on an annual basis was not feasible. Solon City was asked to provide signs for necessary street identification. They used the existing poles and attached green street signs.

A committee, headed by Neal Marks, has just been formed to address the missing street sign issue. They will be examining and pricing different options. We should have more information soon
